Interventionist Meeting
1/11/13

In attendance: Jen M., Shonya, Chris, Tulani Jen R., Jolea, Jane, Naysha, Gloria, Billie

Updates from Jolea
Jolea reviewed the duty schedule and aksed how it is working out for everyone. Jolea told everyone that she has created a shared Google Calendar and is posting a “hard copy” calendar with the PPT schedule that she is keeping on her bulletin board behind her desk. Let her know if she has you scheduled with any conflicts.
Timecards are due every other Thursday. Please make sure to get them to Jolea.
Jolea has set up mailboxes for everyone on her back cabinet. Check the purple folders every day to see if you have any mail.
If you need to call in sick, just call the office and leave a message on the answering machine. If you are going to be out sick where you are scheduled to substitute for someone, you need to call the Subline at 860-373-6750 so that they can . If you are substituting for a teacher, you need to follow that teacher’s schedule, not your Intervention. She will remind the teachers.
There is one key for all of the inside doors now. Go get a key from Deb.
Let Jolea know what supplies you need. She has some items in stock and can order other items.
If you are going to be copying for teachers, please send them to the print shop or have the teacher send the job to the printer so that it can be printed when the copier is not needed.
Jolea will check to see if there is money budgeted for the Interventionists to stay for PD days. She will let them know.

Stanton Teachers Wikispaces
Jane demonstrated how to get to the Stanton Teachers Wiki that she has created as a resource for the Stanton staff. It is located at http://stantonteachers.wikispaces.com/HOME. This is a “protected” Wiki which means that anyone in the world can view it. That means that Stanton staff can access it from any computer that is connected to the Internet at school, at home, in the library, etc. Jane encouraged everyone to join this Wiki because only members are allowed to edit pages and upload resources.
Jane explained that this Wiki is a work in progress to which she is continuing to add resources. She showed some of the writing resources related to Fractal 2 which are located at: http://stantonteachers.wikispaces.com/Fractal+2+Resources. She also demonstrated how the Wiki can be used to create threaded discussions.
She has started a section for the Interventionists where she will posting the Interventionist Meeting notes. You can find last week’s notes at: http://stantonteachers.wikispaces.com/Notes1-7-13 and today’s notes at: http://stantonteachers.wikispaces.com/Notes1-11-13.

Progress Monitoring Data
Billie demonstrated how to access the Benchmark data on the X drive. There is a folder on the X drive entitled 2012-2013_BENCHMARK_DATA_COLLECTION_SHEETS. Here are the steps:
  1. Log onto the Stanton network.
  2. Go to the Windows logo in the lower left-hand corner of the screen and click on Computer.
  3. Scroll down and find the shared Stanton staff network drive that is labeled staffst (\\stschool7) NOTE: It may also have the labeled (X:) next to it. Double click on that drive.
  4. Scroll through the folders on that drive and double click on the folder’s name, e.g., 2012-2013_BENCHMARK_DATA_COLLECTION_SHEETS.
  5. When the folder is open you can scroll through and find the appropriate grade level folder. Then double click on your grade level’s folder and find the teacher with whom you are working. Then double click on the spreadsheet with your teacher’s name and you will launch Excel and see the data. NOTE: IF THE MESSAGE COMES UP THAT THE FILE CAN ONLY BE OPENED AS A READ ONLY FILE, DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES TO IT. This means that someone else has the file open and is making changes.

Billie also showed the Interventionists how to access the 2012-13 SRBI folder on the X drive. (Go through the same steps listed above but choose the 2012-2013_SRBI folder instead.) Billie said that there is a lot of useful information in that folder. She explained that Stanton is in the process of revising their SRBI forms and procedures so some of these files will change. Billie showed a spreadsheet with Gloria’s students’ reading fluency data. Gloria used the Fluency template which already has a graph created that will get built when it is populated with data. Gloria showed one student’s folder to demonstrate where she got the data that she input into the Excel spreadsheet Fluency template.
Billie showed how to open a template on the X drive. She asked that once everyone opens a template that they do File, Save As and save it with a name that makes sense to them and store it in the appropriate grade level folder. This will ensure that the template does not get corrupted.

TO DOs:
  1. 1. Billie will have Jolea check with Matt to make sure that all of the Interventionists have access to the X drive.
  2. 2. Billie will ask Matt to move the desktop computer out of Corinna’s space and put it in an area more accessible for the Interventionists and teachers.
  3. 3. Billie will ask Matt to configure some of the Macbook Air laptops so that teachers can get access to the X drive.
